Excellent, but needs a better barrel. March 20, 2009 Jeremy J. Gove 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This paintball gun/marker is excellent. It is reasonable accurate and very upgradeable. However, the barrel that comes with it is not great. I recommend buying a better barrel, an ironsight or scope, and a gunstock for it.
Great gun for the $$ April 9, 2010 Ryan Jones 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
great marker & very customizable-- can make it look like a variety of popular weapons (such as m4 &ak47).
This marker is accurate if barrel is upgraded. a J&J barrel is good if you're cheap. flatline barrel is best for range (use good paint!)... just pick your poison and research the barrel you find right for you. [...] is great for that stuff.
the a5 is very durable too. i took a nose-dive with it and my flatline barrel... i landed with the end of the barrel straight into the ground & nearly all my weight on top of it--marker still works as good as new.
the cyclone feed system is very nice-- every time you shoot, a ball will come out. With an egrip (automatic), you will be able to fire at a high rate and not have to worry about upgrading to a fancy hopper.
if you are just starting out for paintball or are looking for a slight upgrade from a cheaper marker, this is the one to get.
Great marker January 26, 2009 Felix Acosta Carranza Ok. So I got the standard version. Figured I didn't need auto or semi auto.
I changed the stock barrel for a J&J 14" ceramic.
This marker kicks butt.
I had shot it before but I took it to my first game yesterday. Very reliable, not one break shooting over 500 rounds and shooting second grade stuff.
It shoots very solidly and feel very rugged. It's kind of heavy, but if you ask me that is a plus. Other aluminum guns feel too flimsy.
I am now thinking about adding customization.
Really nice. Great buy!
Greatest woodsball marker ever!!! July 2, 2009 Jonathan A. Hannold Tippmann knows how to build a marker they should cause they started out making real replica guns, thats why you can actually feel the realism, quality and reliability in this marker. not only does it look like a mp5 but you can upgrade this gun to look like just about any gun there is. m16,g36,ak47,mp5,barret .50, with just a few parts it can look like any of these, perfect for milisim play or scenario. one of the best things about this marker is the cyclone feeder its air powered ball feeder,it will feed them as fast as you can pull the trigger and i never had a ball break, and with a few upgrades you can fire up to 30+ balls a second! if your buying your first marker or just upgrading this is a great choice.
Great gun June 8, 2009 Christine A. Larson The tippmann a5 is a very solid gun that is just flat out great.OK some people may be wondering whats that thing on the side of the gun this is called a cyclone feeder and what does is it makes sure that there is a ball i each shot and reduces if not eliminates jams and its a pretty good deal that its added on because its 60 bucks if you bought it separately for any other gun. Know some people may think that its a good gun but want the newer X7 well the X7 is basically the a5 with a shroud. I can even prove it because if you get a tippmann a5 it will come with an X7 instruction manual inside which means the guns have the same internals or in other words their the same. So if you want to save like [...] just by the tippman a 5 and if you really want to make it look more real (I sure do) simply go to this website
[...]
this is a great site it shows some of the most popular formats that you can turn your tippmann a5 into which range from a small mp5 to a large Beretta 50. sniper rifle. Just a heads up on this site it shows the MOST POPULAR FORMATS not all of them.
one thing you are going to have to know when you by this gun is its a wood ball gun so if you plan to get real serious and join a team not a scenario teem but a competitive team this is not the gun for you,if you are going into a team team id recommend getting an invert mini or above to really be as effective as possible.
but back on track this gun is very good I'm not hesitating to give it a 5 out of 5. Know this is an out of the box rating if you buy a 14 or 16 inch barrel the gun will be a lot more accurate. Now you don't have to do this but i do strongly suggest getting a longer barrel also i would also recommend getting a double trigger when you get the gun. The double trigger increases the rate of fire and only go for about [...] and are worth it but again you don't have to do this for the gun to be a good gun. So that's all i have to say about this wonderful gun i hope it helped wile you searched and if not I'm sorry that i could not help.
